Woodland Watch

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to keep the castle looking its best? We have some very passionate volunteers that kindly help us to keep the grounds in order. These journals give you an insight into their observations and efforts to preserve and protect this wonderful Fauna and Flora  we treasure so much.

Woodland Watch

We will be posting our monthly reports here for you to explore and enjoy the news from the grounds team volunteers to experience the seasonal ups and downs with us. We really hope you enjoy this series and get to know us a little bit better.

Chiddingstone Castle is surrounded by 35 acres of grounds which include lawns, woodland, a lake and a Victorian Orangery. Our volunteers work tirelessly all year round to ensure it not only looks good but is also a safe and protected environment for the nature we provide a habitat for.

“I thoroughly enjoy the time I spend volunteering at Chiddingstone Castle. It gives me great pleasure to be part of a like minded team knowing that I am making a difference in supporting the environment. I also love the story of Denys and how much the charity does to try and preserve his quirky collector legacy”
