Wow factor

Looking for the most unique outdoor wedding ceremony in Kent? We have the answer.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the grounds, your guests will not glimpse the Orangery until they arrive at this very special hidden gem.

(We do have vehicle access for those that need to conserve their energy.)

Your Outdoor Ceremony in the Grounds

In 2007, the Victorian stone structure was blessed with a new lease of life when the Orangery was given to a brand new roof.  It is the roof itself that is licensed for the civil ceremony in our grounds.  Wonderfully re-purposed as an utterly unique outdoor venue, like none other.

Arrive in style

Gather your composure with a stroll through the grounds from the castle, or be driven to the end of the aisle.

An impressive setting for your civil or a very personal humanist ceremony.

Drinks at the Orangery

A great alternative option for the drinks reception.  And perhaps the most unique style of outdoor wedding ceremony in Kent, it is a truly stunning venue.

Orangery Roof

The gridshell roof provides a visually simple solution.  When the sun shines the geometric form comes alive with complex shadows that enliven the masonry below. The spheroid is both elegant and efficient and does not detract from the impact of the ‘ruined’ orangery, yet is a delicate and sophisticated structure which complements the existing heavy masonry building.
