Statue of Zhenwu Loan and Talk


From the 21st of July until the 30th of October, a ceramic statue of the Chinese deity Zhenwu from the Horniman Museum and Gardens will be on display at Chiddingstone Castle. This loan is made possible through the Object in Focus project, funded by Arts Council England.

Xiaoxin Li, the China Curator at the V&A Museum will be giving an evening talk about this fascinating object, titled God of the North: Figure of a Taoist Deity.

The talk will be at 7.00pm, with doors opening at 6.30pm. The collection rooms at the Castle will be open until 9.00pm for exclusive evening viewing. Tickets are ten pounds and can be booked through the link below.
