Buddhist Art & Activity Day
Our summer activity day on Sunday the 11th of August this year is themed around the Buddhist collection here at the Castle. The objects date from the 15th to the 20th centuries and are from all over the Buddhist world. They were collected by the last private owner of the Castle, Denys Eyre Bower, who was himself a Buddhist.
Join us to learn more about fascinating Buddhist art and culture with family-friendly talks, activities, and crafts. Try out some fun yoga for beginners by our Victorian orangery, and an introduction to meditation for all the family in our Library. Explore the grounds with a mindful walk, and try some traditional matcha tea. There will also be talks on Buddhist art in the Buddhist Room, and drop in craft activities such as a clay workshop and prayer-flag making.
The activities will be running throughout the day from 11.00am until 4.00pm.
All talks, crafts, and activities included in normal Castle admission ticket which will be £10 on the day, and £5 for children. A family ticket (2+2) will be £25.
