Sunday 28th September

11am – 5pm: Michaelmas Market/Fair in aid of the West Kent Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.  Dozens of stalls selling a variety of gift and craft items, live music, Buck’s Fizz, veteran cars, chance to win a helicopter ride in our raffle.

Children’s activities inside the Castle are included in Castle admission price.  Bring your own picnic to enjoy in the grounds or take advantage of the Castle’s tearooms and shop.

Entry to market only: £5 per person; £10 per family.  Price of holding a stall £12.

6.30-8.30pm:  Charity Reception for The British Legion Poppy Appeal with drinks and canapés

6.30pm: A Reception and lecture by Victor Harris entitled “Denys Eyre Bower and the Chiddingstone Castle Japanese Collection” at Christie’s in London. Tickets £25.

Christmas Events at Chiddingstone Castle

The festive season begins with a Christmas Fair during the day on Thursday November 13th, open to the public from 10-3 with stalls selling delicious local produce and beautiful gifts.  Entrance £2.50.  Our café will be open. (Stall holders - please contact events@chiddingstonecastle.org.uk ) 

For lovers of music there are two evenings of Light Opera in the stunning Great Hall.  On Saturday November 8th and Saturday November 29th  “Everything you wanted to know about Opera” is a fantastic show which takes an amusing look at the “Divas and Dramas” of the opera world, presented by Peter Knapp.  He is joined by the wonderfully talented singer Margaret Rapacioli and the thrilling pianist Simon Hester to give a very personal review of the opera scene, which is both witty and enlightening.  It is guaranteed to appeal to both opera buffs and complete newcomers.

Time: 8pm.

On December 7th, the Castle’s annual Christmas Cabaret returns, featuring Sue Casson, Laurence Taylor and Felix Kemp with a whole new set of Christmas songs and readings. 
Time: doors open at 7.30pm, performance at 8.00pm.
