Wedding & Venue Hire at Chiddingstone Castle
Please join us for our annual Chiddingstone Castle Wedding Fair to be held on Sunday 19 March here at the Castle from 11am to 3pm. This is the perfect opportunity to view the function rooms and locations within the Castle and Gardens, and meet with our Weddings Coordinators to discuss your options. You will also be able to meet many of our selected specialist suppliers, enjoy some live entertainment and sample some delicious treats. Take this opportunity also to view our elegant marquee situated on the South side of the Castle. Free admission and parking. For more information, please email email@example.com.
With the Castle and grounds closed to the public for weddings, we are able to offer exclusive use of our wedding venue throughout the day. We have three separate areas licensed for the ceremony. During summer months most couples opt for a ceremony at the Orangery in the grounds, followed by drinks on the formal raised lawn, before coming inside to the Great Hall and the drawing room for the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
During the winter months, or in wet weather, the ceremony is by no means compromised by coming inside to the majestic Great Hall, a grand, formal room of Tudor heritage reflected in its oak panelling. The bridal couple sign the register at our 17th Century oak refectory table beneath the stained glass window. An aisle is created from the Print Room behind and, following the ceremony, drinks and canapés can be served in the White Rose Drawing Room adjacent, a light and elegant room with breathtaking views of the Weald and walls hung with paintings of the Stuart monarchs.
We are able to accommodate a range of guest numbers, from smaller parties under 50 up to 80 for a wedding breakfast in the Great Hall, followed by an evening reception of up to 120. We regularly erect our marquee in the grounds which gives you freedom to invite up to 120 guests for the full day from ceremony through to evening reception.
The castle is situated on the edge of the idyllic Tudor village of Chiddingstone, with the ancient parish church of St Mary’s often used by couples for a traditional marriage service. The bride and groom can lead a picturesque procession through the impressive village gate and across the footbridge over the lake to the castle.
At Chiddingstone Castle every wedding is unique; attention to detail is very evident, flexibility is key and the whole team is here to make everyone feel calm, relaxed and at home. We work with the bride’s choice of florist, photographer and stylist, and our team of experienced, knowledgeable, friendly staff work professionally behind the scenes to make every occasion run seamlessly.
