Chiddingstone Castle places a special emphasis on supporting education. The education team has designed a series of visits to complement KS1 & 2 studies, as outlined below. 

OPTIONS FOR EDUCATIONAL VISITS

The minimum price for an Egyptian educational session is £5 per child.  Additional options incur an extra cost, as stated below.

Egyptian Session @ £5 per child - 1.5 - 2 hours (max 30 children per session).

Make your visit last all day and add one of our options outlined below:

a. Free use of the grounds for picnics, games or art - children supervised by your staff.

b. Self guided tour of the castle using Explorer Packs @ £1 per child.

c. Self guided nature trail using Explorer Packs @ £1 per child.

d. Nature discovery led by Environmental Education Specialist @ £3 per child.

e. An educational interactive performance by Oliver Naylor (www.steps-in-time.co.uk) @ £7 per child.

Timings may be flexible to accommodate your individual travel arrangements.

We are currently researching and developing a Victorian Session which will be available in 2010.

Please note that due to the restrictions in room size, groups of 30+ children will need to visit for the whole day in order to divide the group for the Sessions.  Please contact us to discuss options.  Maximum group size is 60 children.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Parking is plentiful and free for educational groups and there is room for a coach.

Visiting schools and groups are welcome to use the grounds between sessions for picnics and play but do so at their own risk.

In addition, we are entering into a partnership with Arriere-ban who specialize in historical re-enactment days to add to the range of fun educational events we can undertake both inside the house and within the Castle grounds.
