For Primary Schools

Create a structure for your visit that suits your students.

Immerse yourself in our Buddhist objects, explore Ancient Egypt, travel to Asia through our Japanese collection or be inspired to create your own cyphers and codes with the Jacobites. A visit to Chiddingstone Castle provides a myriad of opportunities for all to explore, engage and be inspired.

During your visit you can join our Curator, Naomi Collick on a tour through the collections. Naomi will help you unlock fun facts and interesting anecdotes.

As part of a group booking, the Goodhugh Room provides dedicated space for breakout activities, group discussions, munching lunch (although we recommend finding a spot somewhere in the grounds if the weather is good!) and storing stuff.

When you make a booking we offer a complimentary pre-visit for your teacher to help you plan your day to suit you and to take full advantage of the Castle as your classroom.

For Families

We welcome families of all sizes to enjoy and learn from our Collections, Historic House and grounds.

Chiddingstone Castle is delighted to be one of 48 museums in Kent that form the Wheels of Time group. These museums are linked by the travelling character Roamin’ Rex who is on a mission to learn about Kent by following his Wheels of Time map around the county. All who join him on his mission receive a Wheels of Time lanyard and collect badges from each venue along the way.

Families can visit the Castle and Collections on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Sunday 2nd April - Wednesday 1st November 2023, from 11am - 5pm. (last entry 4:15pm)
