1. Individual Volunteering
We have opportunities in various roles from Victorian Tea Ladies or Gentlemen, Gardeners, Shop Assistants, Stewards, Activity Assistants, Handyman/Woman, to Office Angels and more! www.do-it.org.uk have information on all our opportunities.
Volunteering is an excellent way to:
- Help others and make a positive contribution to the local community
- Have fun
- Make new friends
- Develop existing skills
- Learn new skills
- Gain work experience
- Update your CV
- Get an up-to-date reference
- Put spare time to good use
- Unemployed or wanting to return to work? Use volunteering as a stepping stone into paid employment.
The castle has an amazing collection of artefacts, a buzzing activity programme planned for 2010 and has a stunning Garden Development Project, which includes a Woodland Play Area and Nature Trail. We Need Your Help.

2. Business Volunteering
All organisations have an impact on the local community in which they operate. The skills and time of their employees are a valuable resource in making that impact positive and productive in the community. We welcome enquiries from any organisation that would like to help us develop Chiddingstone Castle. We can offer:
- Team Challenges/Action Days
- Team building events
- Individual staff who can mentor us with their specific skill’s
- Regular volunteering
We can plan and organise all these types of events in conjunction with the Edenbridge Volunteer Centre, www.do-it.org.uk who will make sure all the necessary planning issues are considered; (health and safety, insurance, risk assessments).
The benefits to an employer include:
- Raising their profile and reputation in the community
- Develop staff awareness skills and leadership potential
- Increasing staff motivation and morale
- Improving communications and understanding between staff
