Stunning Egyptian and Buddhist artefacts, magnificent Japanese armour, and beautiful Jacobean paintings are held in trust for the nation by this independent charity and are on display as part of our outstanding collections.

Set in 35 acres of grounds including a lake open to fishermen, a rose garden, and magnificent woodland, this beautiful castle in Kent is an ideal venue to host your event, enjoy a fairytale wedding or arrange a group visit with a difference.

For a fun and educational family day out we have a series of Activity Days throughout the year to entertain all ages.  Throughout the opening season, on whatever day we are open, visitors can discover Samurai Warriors, Egyptian tombs, Castle ghosts and enjoy nature trails in the grounds.  In addition, a charming Victorian Tea Room and a well-stocked shop serve to complement a memorable visit.
